Lemmy ist eine selbstgehostete soziale Link-Aggregations- und Diskussionsplattform. Es ist vollständig kostenlos und offen, und wird von keiner Firma kontrolliert. Das heißt, dass keine Werbung, kein Tracking und keine geheimen Algorithmen verwendet werden. Inhalte sind in Communities organisiert, so dass man einfach interessante Themen verfolgen, und andere ignorieren kann. Durch das Votum der Nutzer werden die interessantesten Inhalte an die Spitze befördert.

Posts can be upvoted or downvoted. The most interesting ones rise to the top. You can choose between different sort options. Threaded let you follow discussions easily. All the important features from Reddit are available.

Resource usage is very low thanks to Rust, so it can run on a small Raspberry Pi or alongside other services.
